lifestyle sessions.

Are you the type to get family photos annually or do you fall under the category of “I think the last time was in 1997?” Either way, I’ve got you covered!

Family photos are my favourite thing to capture; hands down. I love capturing the “classic Christmas card” photo just as much as I love capturing your kids acting silly.

My goal is the make sure you guys are comfortable, at ease, and that overall, you have a fun experience while I’m capturing your loved ones!HBH_7740 copy

HOW TO PLAN FOR FAMILY PHOTOS

Q: Where do you take most of your photos?

A: Where I provide services around the province, I encourage my clients to choose a few spots that mean a lot to them. It can be a beach that you often take your kids to, a park you like or it can be at your home – wherever it is; make sure there is some sentiment! I’m always game for an adventure so if we have to take a boat or an ATV there, I’m game!

Q: What should we wear?

A: First and foremost, wear something that’s comfortable and seasonal. If it’s cold, layer up. If it’s warm, wear clothes that you aren’t going to sweat through. As far as colours, I tend to recommend that you don’t go too “matchy matchy.” I’ve found that choosing three colours and mixing them up yields a great look that is both casual but put together! If you’re really in doubt, Pinterest has some great ideas!

Q: What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

A: Living in Nova Scotia, this is a common problem! If we can reschedule, we will. If we can’t, we’ll have fun trying to find an alternative!

Q: Can we bring our pets?

A: By all means. Please check the locations we plan on using to ensure pets are allowed on the properties!

Q: What can we expect?

A: Expect to have fun! For starters, I’m not a very formal person so I don’t expect you to be either. I’m a kid at heart so when it comes to kids, don’t be surprised if we play a bit of tag and tell poop jokes for most of the session. The best “you” comes out when you’re comfortable and at ease so just let your weird out. Keep in mind that no family is “perfect” but that your photos should be the perfect reflection of you guys!

Most sessions last anywhere from 1-2 hours and have a turnaround time of 1-2 weeks. Photos are distributed digitally and you have a print release meaning you can print them as you like.

Q: Should we bring anything?

A: Some people bring blankets. Some also bring a second outfit to switch into. Bring whatever you like but keep in mind that sometimes “less is more.” I¬†strongly¬†suggest bringing treats for kids and pets (bribery is Parenting 101, right?)

Q: How much will our session cost?

A: Sessions start at $250 tax inc and go up from there. Travel and the number of people can be a factor in price increases. I accept cash & e-transfers for payments. Photos are not delivered until full payment has been made.

Q: What is the best way to book you?

A: I’m a big fan of a good old fashioned phone call so I can get all the details out and so we can both get excited about your session! You can get me at (902) 318.1175.
