It’s been a while since I’ve treated myself to new gear for my main body. I’ve been researching and dreaming for the last few months and finally bit the bullet and purchased what I really wanted. I purchased a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II and a Lensbaby Composer Pro with Edge 80 Optics and a Gorillapod tripod. I originally purchased the 24-70mm 2.8 but once I got it home, decided I really wouldn’t utilize it as much as I initially thought. At first, I had been thinking of a “walk around lens” but it was incredibly heavy and I already have a Tamron 17-50mm that I don’t use. Although it isn’t the same focal length, I still don’t feel like I would use that one. If I need it, I’ve got the Tamron.
I highly considered taking the Lensbaby back as I’m used to traditional lenses but after taking some photos with it, I see so much potential with it and I’m excited to put it to use in my client work. Below are a few shots that I have taken with the new Lensbaby – more to come with the 70-200mm soon. Enjoy 🙂
