the grady bunch.

When it comes to booking a photo session for your family, choosing a location is among one of the harder things to settle on. I have a few spots in my local area that I use consistently but I love when clients invite me to their special spots. It always makes the photos mean so much more!

When I arrived at Terry & Allison’s, the sky threatened rain. I walked in the house, was greeted with a big squeeze and without skipping a beat, Allison looked at my feet and said “I hope you’ve got rubber boots.”

This is my kind of session.

The family planned on taking my by boat to a little island near their house called “Ragged Head.” They spent many hours with their five children playing here. It seemed like the only suitable place. We jetted across by boat and arrived to find that the kids had already started a bonfire! After a few burnt marshmallows (Thanks Jessie-Lee!) we started telling embarrassing stories and the laughs flowed effortlessly for the remainder of the session. If that didn’t make my “job” easy enough; LOOK AT HOW GORGEOUS THIS FAMILY IS!

As we lost daylight, we retreated to the families cottage where I was serenaded by the entire family. Not only am I a HUGE fam of cozy cottages by the ocean but I’m an even bigger fan of getting a live performance by a super talented bunch who make harmony’s look effortless.

I left this session with my heart so full. I am so grateful that families trust me to capture the love they share for each other in photos so they can cherish those moments forever. DSC_0548 copyDSC_0535 copyDSC_0606 copyDSC_0624 copyDSC_0770 copyDSC_0829 copyDSC_0811 copyDSC_0943 copyDSC_0962 copyDSC_0989-2 copyDSC_1012-2 copy
